Diversity and female leadership mark the 1st SPE Women in Energy (WIN) Brazil Symposium

The first edition of the Women in Energy (WIN) Symposium, promoted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Brazil Section, brought inspiration and knowledge to all attendants.

The more than 160 people (mostly women from the E&P sector but also men, from students, young professionals and executives) were able to discuss the diversity in the sector, in addition to participating in debates on digital transformation, research and development, entrepreneurship, pre-salt and onshore development.

Due to its global presence, with members in 164 countries, of all ages, cultures, religions, ideologies, etc., SPE has in its DNA respect for diversity, making it permeate the entire O&G industry.

Held on July 18, the SPE Brazil Women in Energy (WIN) Symposium decided to innovate: instead of discussing diversity only as a theme, it proposed to show its benefits in a practical way, bringing in this event the opportunities of the E&P industry, but with the female perspective and leading role.

Our petroleum engineers, Bárbara Cavalcante and Carlos Alberto Pedroso, actively participated in the organization and holding of the event. Bárbara Cavalcante is the Chairwoman of the Women in Energy (WIN) Brazil Committee and Carlos Alberto Pedroso, the Vice-Chairman of the SPE Brazil Section.

Enauta was one of the sponsors of the event and was also present with employees from the Engineering, HSE, IR, Legal, Communication and HR areas.
